Terms & conditions.
The rules for the monthly plate draws and instant-win competitions: who can enter, free postal entry, how draws are run and how winners are checked and paid.
1About us and these terms
The Reg Raffle is run by The Reg Raffle UK Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17476921) whose registered office is 46 Roast Calf Lane, Bishop Middleham, Ferryhill, DL17 9AT (“we”, “us”).
These terms apply to every main draw and instant-win competition on theregraffle.co.uk, whether you enter online or by post. Each competition page also lists its own key terms (prizes, price, closing date). If they differ from these terms, the competition page applies to that competition.
You can contact us at help@theregraffle.co.uk or through our contact form.
2Who can enter
- You must be 18 or over and a resident of Great Britain (England, Scotland or Wales).
- Our staff, their households and anyone professionally connected with running the draws can’t enter.
- You may have one account. We can close duplicate accounts and void their entries.
- We may ask you to prove your age, identity or address at any time. If you can’t, we can void your entries and withhold any prize.
3Your account
You need an account to pay for entries. Keep your login details private: you’re responsible for entries made from your account. The details you give us must be true and kept up to date, because we use them to contact winners and check identity.
You can close your account at any time from My account. Entries already made stay in their draws.
4The main draw
- Each month there are three separate cash draws: £1 to win £1,000, £2 to win £2,000 and £3 to win £3,000. Prize amounts are shown on the site before you enter.
- Your entry is a vehicle registration (“plate”). Each plate can be entered once per draw. A plate already entered in a draw can’t be entered in it again by anyone.
- You must be the registered keeper of the vehicle, as shown on its V5C logbook. We don’t check plates when you enter: if you win, you must show us the V5C naming you as keeper, and photo ID, within 14 days.
- Each plate entry receives a ticket number, shown on your confirmation.
- Entries lock at 19:59:59 (UK time) on the last Friday of the month, and the three draws take place live from 8pm that evening.
- If a plate can’t be verified, isn’t a real registered vehicle, or wasn’t entered by its registered keeper, the entry is void. For a paid entry we’ll refund it as site credit.
5Instant-win competitions
- Each instant-win competition has a fixed set of prizes and a fixed maximum number of entries, shown on its page.
- The winning entry numbers are fixed when the competition launches, before any entries are sold, and published as a fingerprint so they can’t be changed later.
- Your entries get their numbers when your payment is confirmed. If an entry number matches a winning number, you’ve won that prize. Spin the Alloy and Scratch the Disc only show a result that has already been decided.
- A competition closes at its closing time, when every prize has been won, or when all entries are sold, whichever comes first.
- There may be a maximum number of entries per order, shown on the competition page.
6Paying for entries
- Paid entries must be made by debit card. Credit cards are not accepted. Card payments are taken on our payment provider’s secure page; we never see or store your full card number.
- You can use site credit and free-entry vouchers in your account at checkout.
- Entries only exist once your payment is confirmed. If a payment fails or is cancelled, no entry is made.
- Your monthly spend limit, any break and any self-exclusion apply to every paid entry. See Play responsibly.
- Because every entry is for a specific, dated draw, you can’t cancel an entry once it has been paid for, except where the law gives you a right to.
7Free postal entry
Every main draw and competition can be entered free by post. Postal entries go into the same draw, with exactly the same chance of winning, as paid entries.
Send a postcard or letter to:
The Reg Raffle – Free Entry, 46 Roast Calf Lane, Bishop Middleham, Ferryhill, DL17 9AT
Include your full name, address and date of birth, your email and phone number, and either your reg (for a main draw, plus which draw) or the competition name.
- One entry per envelope. Bulk entries, or entries sent by a third party on someone else’s behalf, aren’t accepted.
- Main draw postal entries must arrive by the date shown on the site (normally the Wednesday before draw night). Competition entries must arrive before the competition closes.
- Illegible or incomplete entries, or entries for a plate already entered in that draw, are void.
- We aren’t responsible for post that is lost or delayed. Proof of posting isn’t proof of receipt.
- Postal entries count towards the maximum entries for a competition and are given entry numbers in the same way as paid entries.
8How draws are run
Draws are run by Verity, our random draw engine. Before a draw opens we publish a fingerprint (commitment) of a secret seed. When entries close we fingerprint the full entry list and commit to a future public random number from the drand network. The winner is picked from these values with equal odds for every entry, and afterwards we publish the seed and everything needed to re-run the draw on our Verified draws page.
If a draw can’t take place as planned (for example a technical failure), we’ll run it as soon as practical using the same locked entry list, and tell entrants.
9Winners and prizes
- We contact main draw winners by phone and email within 24 hours of the draw. Instant-win results show straight away.
- To claim a cash prize you must send your V5C logbook showing you as the registered keeper of the winning plate, and photo ID (passport or driving licence) in the same name, within 14 days of being contacted. Other prizes may need photo ID too.
- If a main-draw winner can’t show the V5C naming them as keeper and photo ID within 14 days, or isn’t eligible, the prize is forfeited and rolls into next month’s draw of the same value.
- Cash prizes are paid by bank transfer to a UK account in the winner’s name once approved. Goods prizes are posted to a GB address. There is no cash alternative to goods prizes.
- Site credit is added to your account straight away. It can be used for entries, can’t be exchanged for cash and can’t be transferred.
- A free main draw entry prize lets you enter a plate in a main draw from My account.
- Prizes can’t be transferred. We may substitute a goods prize with one of equal or greater value if it becomes unavailable.
10Publishing results
We publish results with a partly hidden plate (for example AB12 C••) and the winner’s town. We don’t publish your name or photo without your consent. Draw records show entries only as anonymous tags.
11Fair play
We can void entries, withhold prizes and close accounts if we reasonably believe someone has cheated, used automated tools, given false information, entered a plate they aren’t the keeper of, or broken these terms. We can cancel or change a competition if events outside our control make it impossible to run fairly; if we cancel, we refund paid entries.
12Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t let us limit. Otherwise we aren’t responsible for losses that weren’t foreseeable, for prizes once delivered (beyond any manufacturer’s or supplier’s guarantee), or for faults in networks and devices outside our control. Your statutory rights aren’t affected.
13Complaints
- Use our contact form and choose Complaint as the topic, or email help@theregraffle.co.uk. Include your reg or the competition name if it’s about an entry.
- We’ll send you a reference number and a named person will handle your complaint.
- We’ll reply in full within 5 working days. If we need longer, we’ll tell you why and when to expect an answer.
- If you’re unhappy with our reply, ask for it to be reviewed by a director. We’ll give a final answer within a further 10 working days.
If we still can’t agree, you can take the matter to the courts (see below). Using our complaints process doesn’t affect your legal rights.
14Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. Changes apply to entries made after they’re published; the version that applied when you entered applies to that entry.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland you can bring proceedings in the Scottish courts.
